Le Moyne President Recognized with SU鈥檚 Tolley Medal
In a ceremony held on April 21, Le Moyne President Linda LeMura was presented with the William Pearson Tolley Medal for Adult Education and Lifelong Learning from Syracuse University. The award recognizes outstanding contributions in lifelong and continuing education and is named for former Syracuse University Chancellor William Pearson Tolley, one of the nation鈥檚 pre-eminent leaders in higher education who retired in 1969 after serving as SU鈥檚 chancellor for 27 years.
“I’m honored to receive this award from an institution where I earned two graduate degrees,” said LeMura. “Syracuse University has been a big part of my life and I’m truly humbled.”
“This prestigious award is well-deserved recognition for Linda’s lifelong and ongoing contributions to higher education,” said Le Moyne Board Chair Pete DiLaura ’78.
The award is based in SU’s School of Education and honors national or international leadership in support of lifelong learning. It was presented to President LeMura at SU鈥檚 One University Awards ceremony.聽
